Winter Primary Competition
During terms 2 and 3 we run competitions for local primary and intermediate schools. This is held on Friday evenings at Wharenui Stadium, Middleton Grange School Gyms and South Hornby Primary School Hall. We had 60 teams entered across all grades in 2021!
Year 5/6 Grade
For the year 5/6 grade we run our ‘Gator Ball’ format which is 3v3 on shortened courts. All other basketball rules are as normal. This allows the players to get more skill repetitions, which makes for a more enjoyable basketball experience.
Year 7/8 B Grade and Year 7/8 Girls Grade
This is a 12 week competition run over 2 terms 5v5 - this can be mixed boys and girls except for the girls only grade.
Year 7/8 A Grade
This grade is made up of more confident/experienced players so they play 5v5 for all 12 weeks of the competition.
